Privacy Policy
1. Data Controller
This Privacy Policy and Information Notice has been prepared by Marmaris International Yacht Sport Club (MIYC) as the data controller, within the scope of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK").

The technical infrastructure, hosting and software services of the website may be operated by third-party service providers (data processors) on behalf of MIYC. These providers act solely under MIYC's instructions.
2. Personal Data Processed
The following data is collected through newsletter subscription, race registration and sailing school application forms:
- Name and surname
- E-mail address
- Phone number
- Boat name and sail number (for race registrations)
- Application and payment transaction details (amount, date, transaction reference)
MIYC does not collect, store or view payment instrument details such as credit card numbers. Such information is processed only within the secure environment of the contracted payment/bank infrastructure provider.
3. Purposes and Legal Basis
- Providing information about the race calendar, results and club news
- Managing race and sailing school applications and informing/confirming applicants
- Communicating with members, participants and subscribers
- Fulfilling legal obligations
Legal basis: your explicit consent under Article 5 of the KVKK, performance of a contract, and the legitimate interests of MIYC. You may withdraw your consent for the newsletter at any time.
4. Commercial Electronic Messages and IYS
E-mails sent by MIYC are predominantly (i) transactional notifications such as application confirmations, status updates and collection, and (ii) club and event information directed to club members and voluntary subscribers. Under Law No. 6563 and the relevant regulation, messages sent by associations/clubs to their own members, as well as transactional notifications, fall outside the scope of the commercial electronic message consent requirement and the Message Management System (IYS) registration obligation.
Every newsletter contains a free and easy link to stop delivery (right to refuse). You may also unsubscribe at any time by e-mailing miyc@miyc.org. Your opt-out request is applied as soon as possible.
5. Transfer of Data
Your personal data is never sold to third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be transferred only to the extent necessary to (a) hosting/e-mail/payment service providers acting on behalf of MIYC, and (b) legally authorized public authorities.
6. Payment Transactions
Application fees are collected through a contracted third-party payment institution / bank virtual POS infrastructure. The execution, security and verification of the payment is the responsibility of the relevant payment institution. Your card details are transmitted directly to the payment institution and are not seen by MIYC.
MIYC and the third parties providing the software/technical services of the website cannot be held liable for any errors, interruptions, duplicate charges, incorrect amounts or delays that may occur during payment. In such cases you should first contact the relevant bank/payment institution and miyc@miyc.org.
7. About E-mail Delivery
E-mail notifications are delivered over the internet infrastructure and third-party e-mail services. MIYC and its technical service providers cannot be held liable if an e-mail fails to reach the recipient, is delayed, lands in the spam folder, or cannot be delivered for technical reasons. You can always confirm the status of your application by contacting MIYC.
8. Retention Period
Your data is retained until you cancel your subscription or request its deletion. Race and sailing school registration data is kept for the statutory retention periods following the completion of the relevant season.
