Preliminary Information Form

This form is provided under Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and the Distance Contracts Regulation, to inform you before your order creates a payment obligation.
The name, participant, date, reference number and total price including taxes of the service you are purchasing are shown separately on the payment page. This form is an inseparable complement to the order details displayed on that screen.

2. Essential Characteristics of the Service
MIYC offers the following services through miyc.org:
- Race registration: registration of a boat and/or participant for a sailing race of a given calendar year whose name, date and location have been announced. Registration is subject to the rules defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions of that race.
- Sailing school / training registration: registration for a training programme whose name, duration, level and dates have been announced.
- Social event registration: registration for a club event whose name and date have been announced.
The name, date and scope of the service you purchase are shown on the payment screen and on the relevant race or course page.
Not included: transport, accommodation, food and beverages, boat charter, insurance and personal equipment are not included unless expressly stated on the relevant race or course page.
3. Price and Payment
- The amount shown on the payment screen is the total price including all taxes. No additional charges, commissions or service fees are applied to this amount.
- Available payment methods may vary by service: online payment by credit/debit card, bank transfer, or payment at the club. The methods available to you are listed on the payment screen.
- Card payments are collected through the virtual POS infrastructure of Yapı ve Kredi Bankası A.Ş. with 3D Secure authentication. Your card details are entered only on the bank's secure page; MIYC does not see or store them.
- Instalment payment is not offered; transactions are processed as single payments.
- Once your payment is approved, you will receive an e-mail with your registration reference number (MIYC-YYYY-NNNN).
4. Your Order Creates a Payment Obligation
When you tick the confirmation box on the payment screen and press the payment button, you enter into a payment obligation. The amount payable is shown explicitly on the button.
5. Right of Withdrawal and Its Exception
In distance contracts, consumers generally have the right to withdraw within 14 days without giving any reason.
However, the race, event and date-specific training services offered by MIYC fall within Article 15, first paragraph, subparagraph (g) of the Distance Contracts Regulation, as services "relating to the use of leisure time for entertainment or recreation purposes that must be performed on a specific date or period". The right of withdrawal therefore does not apply to these services.
Where the right of withdrawal does not apply, the tiered cancellation and refund terms in the Cancellation and Refund Policy apply:

No refund is made if the participant does not attend ("No Show"), or cannot participate due to boat failure, lack of crew or personal reasons.
If MIYC cancels the organisation, the full fee is refunded; alternatively the participant may accept a credit or a transfer to another event. In case of postponement, registrations are transferred to the new date.

6. Cancellation and Refund Applications
Refund requests are made in writing only, to miyc@miyc.org. The application must state your full name, payment reference number, the name of the race or event, and the reason.
Approved refunds are made within 10 business days at the latest, using the original payment method, and for card payments only to the same card.
7. Complaints and Disputes
You may send complaints to miyc@miyc.org.
In case of a dispute, you may apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee at your place of residence or at the place of the transaction, within the monetary limits determined annually by the Ministry of Trade, and to the Consumer Courts for disputes above those limits.
8. Retention of the Contract
The Preliminary Information Form and Distance Service Agreement you approve are recorded in MIYC's systems together with the date of approval and the version number. You may request a copy at miyc@miyc.org.
9. Your Personal Data
Information on the processing of personal data during registration and payment is set out in the Privacy Notice. The privacy notice is not submitted for your approval; it is provided for information purposes.
Receiving commercial electronic messages (announcements, newsletters) depends solely on a separate and optional explicit consent. Withholding this consent does not affect your registration or payment.
