Organized jointly by Marmaris International Yacht Club and Offshore Yachting Club of Rhodes, the 15th “Channel Regatta” will take place in Marmaris on 17 – 18 – 19 September 2022. The friendship with the Offshore Yachting Club of Rhodes, dating back many years, was instrumental in the start of such a race. Sailors living on both sides of the Aegean Sea laid the groundwork for this race by asking “Why not race together in our common sea?” The slogan of the race was “Sailing Together”.
At first, if the race started in Marmaris, it would end in Rhodes and if it started in Rhodes, it would end in Marmaris. Due to the changing economic and social conditions, it was decided that the race would be held alternately in Rhodes one year and in Marmaris the other year. We firmly believe that the race, which will run for the 15th time this year, will contribute to the consolidation of the friendship that has developed on both sides of the Aegean. Approximately 25 boats and 250 sailors are expected to participate in the races. We wish all racers fair winds and following seas.
